For our first party of the year, Martin and Pam McGay were nice enough to open their home to the crew in January. Though the party was small, the rats (and the McGay's dog "Peaches") were the center of attention! The first picture shows Eve Brockmann modelling the latest in rodent haberdashery (Fern just thought it was a neat nesting place):
Martin and Pam's "Beatrice" amazed all with her athletic prowess. Here, we see her practicing her long jump for the 2000 Olympics. Now, if her aim was a bit better, she could've chowed down on the chips and dip that were sitting on the table.
For our second 1999 outing, Diane Weikal opened up her home (well, her parent's home) to a BARMCA "barbecue" in the wilds of Woodside. For those not familiar with the Bay Area, Woodside is in the hills to the south and west of Redwood City. As I recall, the directions to Diane's place was something like "follow the main road to the edge of town, take a turn into the woods, follow the road up and down the hills, around the hairpin turns on the 1 1/2 lane road, and just when you think you're completely lost, take your second left down the ravine." Just to make it real fun, it rained most of the day, and it was quite foggy to boot. Anyhow, Johanna Hart showed up, albeit rather late, to chow down on the Low-Fat "Ugly Dip", but more importantly, to model the latest in rodent underwear. Thanks to Vanette's great camerawork, the show has been captured on film for all to see:
