What is BARMCA? It's the Bay Area chapter of the Rat and Mouse Club of America. Unlike some of the other local RMCA chapters around the country, we're not terribly well organized (though we do have our own maillist!). Mainly, we meet on an infrequent social basis to eat, play with our rats, split large quantities of rattie food among members, play with our rats, adopt rats from the local animal shelters, play with our rats, and tell cute rat stories. Did I mention that we also get to play with our ratties?

As if you haven't noticed by the other pages on this site, we (well, mainly Marilyn) never travel very far without our camera. And we've had some good fun at some of the BARMCA meetings. I've looked through most of these pictures, and picked a few favorites to share with the rat-lovin' world.

Currently, I've separated them by the year, but this may change as we attend more parties and I scan more pictures.

Malachi, a proud member of the Dunham brood (whose numbers fluctuate too often to keep track of here), recently headed for the land of eternal Peanut Butter. He was a true legend in the BARMCA ranks, as evidenced by the large number of members who number one or more of his descendants in their rat families.

Malachi - BARMCA Legend

Farewell, Malachi. Your mom and dad as well as your many friends and admirers will miss you!
